This ice sculpture design gives a special event that star-studded look.

I’ve included this single block design (it can actually be carved from a bit more than half a block) because I carved it the other day and I’m going to use it in an upcoming entry to illustrate another procedure.



In this case, it was part of a Hollywood themed event and stars fit right in. There isn’t much depth to this design; it’s really all silhouette. If you use a half block slab for the piece, you need to attach a base for stability. This sort of design works well as flanking pieces for a more elaborate sculpture. Just reverse the design for one and put them on either side of the main piece. (See below.)
