Cinderella's slipper

The classic glass slipper is displayed on a crystal cut base.

This was designed for a casino event, but obviously it could be used for weddings also. The design makes efficient use of a block of ice, using otherwise excess ice to elevate the slipper. The base is cut in a crosshatch pattern to give the piece a Waterford crystal look.

The weld between the slipper and the base can be troublesome, so it's best to tilt the base so that the weld surface is level and then attach the slipper. The weld should be done in the freezer to minimize the risk of it failure. You may also want to consider adding an additional flat base to this design to raise the front of the slipper up out of the tray. Finally, the design doesn't show that you can hollow the slipper out a bit, but be careful how you do this, because if it's sloppy, it will have a big effect on the look of the sculpture. (Because you can see through the ice, you know.)
