This design uses a relatively small amount of ice but is still a nice ice sculpture design for weddings or similar events.

This half block design was originally published in a newsletter sometime in 1999. Here’s the text from the original design:

Kissing Doves

These doves appeared in an design earlier this year as part of a heart and doves piece. Here the doves stand alone and are larger, almost 30 inches tall. This sculpture requires only a 40”x20”x5” piece of ice. However, an additional base (not shown) should be welded on for extra stability. The tops of the wings must also be welded on. Cut both wing tops from one piece of ice.


If at possible, the wings should be welded on using the aluminum welding method for strength.
