On tax day, the relevance of this piece should be pretty obvious. It’s a simple piece, but it’s quite appropriate for an event that’s all about showing off. Using a bubble bit (see the photo), it’s very easy to give this dollar sign some spectacular looking “bling” to make it really stand out.
It can be carved from a full 40”x20”x10” block, but I usually find it’s better to carve a piece like this from a 40”x20”x4-5” slab and weld a stabilizing base on the bottom. The base should be about 20”x10-12”x4”.
