The other day I got an email asking for advice on how to "write on the ice." Right away, I sent back an email that explained which kinds of magic markers let you write on ice when it's still frozen (not while it's melting). Well, you can probably see where this is going: that's not what he meant...the whole entry...
the big FREEZE

As an ice sculptor, I like the cold. I can get something more out of chilly temps than a nasty case of frostbite. Ironically, I live in the deep south, where we're lucky if we see more than one hard freeze a year. (Strangely, some down here don't share my enthusiasm for hard freezes...) Summers, on the other hand, can be dreadfully hot, with high humidity that pushes the heat index into record breaking territory. When you're done moving a lot of ice around, the sweat that results can make you feel like YOU'RE the one melting! And now, at the end of another ridiculously hot summer, it's sometimes hard to imagine that it can ever be cold again. But don't worry, it will be.

Ice sculpting companies are apparently the target of a scam artist or artists. Ice sculptors across the United States, (now all the way from Alaska to Florida!) reported on Facebook that they’d been contacted by an individual that wanted to order four ice sculptures. In some cases, the contact was by email only, and started with the following:Hello Am Fishian Greg and how you doing today, I will like to make an Inquries for Ice Sculptures i will like to ask if you can make both (Wedding Sculpture) and (Anniversary Sculpture) for me and i will be needing Two from each i will like you to advice me on necessary details needed for this arrangement alright Thanks
This scam has been evolving over the last several days and has taken on at least three additional formats: a pharaoh version, one from “nicole martinez” or David Raymond, and another from “Jack nash.”the whole entry...
